Set in the heart of Zululand in the eastern province of KwaZulu-Natal, lies the oldest game park in Africa, the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve. A fantastic venue for meetings and incentive travel experiences as this 96 000 hectare park offers visitors both a wealth of wildlife and natural beauty.

Besides the diverse number of animals, including elephants, lions and giraffe that can be spotted here, the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve is famous for its conservation efforts of the endangered white rhinoceros. The park was inaugurated in 1895 but even before that had been a conservation area by decree of the Zulu kings, Dingiswayo and Shaka Zulu, who had used the area as a favoured hunting ground.

The natural landscape is hilly and noted for its wide variety of both bird and animal life, this park is a prime birding destination in Africa. Lurking in the rivers of the region is the feared Nile crocodile, just one of many predators waiting for an opportune moment to snatch its prey.

There are many hides set up throughout the park to enable close-up viewing of animals coming to drink at the waterholes in the early hours of the morning or evening.
