South Africa Overview

You will find evidence of earliest man in fossilised footprints at the Cradle of Humankind in South Africa, testament to the ancient history of the country. Climate: South Africa is a sub-tropical location and the climate varies throughout the country. It is relatively dry with a low average rainfall and temperatures are generally warmer inland. Summer months are from mid-October to mid-February and winter from May to July – all seasons are easy to travel during and offer something unique to the visitor.

Language: There are 11 official languages however English is spoken throughout the country and is the main business language.

Health: You will require a yellow fever certificate if you are travelling from an infected area. Many of the tourism areas are malaria-free, however if you are travelling to the Kruger National Park or the Lowveld of Mpumulanga and Limpopo, there is a malaria risk during the summer months.
